A joyous wedding celebration turned chaotic when the groom's family complained to the bride's side about being served "less mutton curry." The heated argument quickly escalated, leading both families to hurl stones at each other.

The incident took place on August 28 in the Indian state of Telangana, where a wedding in Nizamabad district descended into a violent altercation over the mutton dispute.

On Thursday, videos of the incident surfaced on social media, showing the wedding attendees engaged in a scuffle and throwing stones at each other while onlookers tried to intervene.

Following the clash, the police arrived at the scene to diffuse the tensions.

According to Indian media reports, a group of male guests from the groom’s side complained to the cook about the inadequate portions of food served at the wedding.

The conversation soon escalated into a heated argument, with both families attacking each other and leaving eight attendees injured.

After order was restored, the wounded were shifted to Nizamabad Government Hospital.

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 11 individuals for causing violence and disruption.

Mutton is highly valued at special events in the local culture of Telangana, where it is considered a delicacy. However, violence over such minor disputes reflects how cultural values can become battles of ego.
