Class 5 student accidentally hangs self to death

A fifth-grade student accidentally hanged himself in his house in India’s Uttar Pradesh while trying to mimic a prank video circulating on social media.

The incident took place in Hamirpur where an 11-year-old boy, Nikhil Raju saw a prank video of hanging on social media reels and lost his life while trying to copy the act.

The child put a noose around his neck and tied the rope to a ceiling hook to make a video but ended up dying be suicide.

Nikhil's father confirmed the incident that his son used to watch prank videos on social media every day after returning from school and tried to make similar ones.

Soon after, he fainted and was immediately taken to the hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

The police learned about the incident through social media and counseled the parents who were averse to an autopsy. Rajju was the eldest among two brothers and a sister.
