New Delhi: The craze for selfies in India has tragically led to the drowning of three youths in the river Ganges, two of whom lost their lives.

According to Indian media reports, the heartbreaking incident occurred in the city of Raebareli, where three youths had boarded a boat in the river Ganges with the intention of taking selfies.

Indian police reported that the drowned youths, named Toheed, Shaan, and Fahad, were aged 17, 19, and 18 respectively.

As per the Indian police, when the boat moved towards the shore, the three youths, who were taking selfies on the boat, lost their balance and fell into the river.

In this tragic incident, Toheed and Shaan drowned, while Fahad managed to swim to the shore successfully.

Later, divers recovered the bodies of Toheed and Fahad after hours of search in the river following their drowning. The bodies were handed over to their families after post-mortem examination.
