In an astonishing turn of events, a 70-year-old UK woman, Tizi Hodson, has received a response to her job application nearly five decades after submitting it.

Hudson had dreamed of becoming a motorcycle stunt rider in her youth and applied for the position in 1976, according to BBC.

"I always wondered why I never heard back about the job. Now I know why," the publication quoted the woman as saying.

Despite never landing the stunt riding job, Hudson led an adventurous life, working as a snake handler, aerobatic pilot, and flying instructor, travelling the world.

Recalling the day she wrote the letter, Hudson reminisced, “I remember very clearly sitting in my flat in London typing the letter."

"Every day I looked for my post but there was nothing there and I was so disappointed because I really, really, wanted to be a stunt rider on a motorcycle.”

The letter's return was accompanied by a handwritten note from Staines Post Office, explaining that it was found stuck in a drawer and delivered 50 years late.

“Late delivery by Staines Post Office. Found behind a draw [sic]. Only about 50 years late.”

The bizarre twist has left Hudson stunned, who described the experience as "amazing."

The mysterious delivery also raises questions as Hudson has changed residences multiple times over the past 48 years, and the note does not reveal the name of the person who rediscovered the letter or how Hudson's current address was located.
