Unique revenge: Turkish actor buys school in which he studied and demolishes it

Turkish actor Çağlar Ertuğrul has stirred up significant controversy in Turkey with his announcement that he acquired and subsequently demolished an educational institution where he had once been a student.

Ertugrul, who played the starring role in the famous Turkish series "The Organization", said in a post that he attached to the picture that he bought his primary school and then demolished it. He added that he did this in retaliation for teachers who beat him during school when he was a child.

The announcement ignited a storm of reactions, flooding Ertuğrul's Instagram with thousands of comments, particularly noteworthy given his massive following of over 3 million users.

Responses were sharply divided, with some applauding Ertuğrul's freedom to spend his wealth as he sees fit, especially since he had disclosed his intentions prior to demolition. Others, however, vehemently criticized his decision.

Facing intense backlash, Ertuğrul resorted to hiding certain comments on his Instagram but refrained from deleting the controversial photos or providing any explanation.

Despite attempts to portray a light-hearted demeanor in subsequent images where he is seen smiling amidst the school's ruins, Turkish media reported that his efforts to inject humor fell flat.
