Waitress fired after sharing $10,000 tip with co-workers

A waitress, Linsey Boyd, who received a $10,000 tip on a $32.43 bill at the Mason Jar Cafe in Michigan, US, was fired after splitting the generous sum with her co-workers. 

The cafe claims the decision was unrelated to the tip, but negative reviews have flooded in, criticizing the establishment for letting Boyd go. 

The tip, given by an anonymous middle-aged benefactor in honor of a friend's funeral, was meant to be split among the staff, resulting in approximately $1600 per person for the eight servers. 

Drama ensued, with rumors suggesting disagreements among employees who didn't work that day but expected a share of the donation. 

Boyd, who had been asked to take a mental health break, received a call informing her of her termination.
