The price of gold in Pakistan saw a modest increase on Monday, with 24-karat gold priced at Rs282,900 per tola, up by Rs500 from the previous session.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10-gram rose to Rs242,541, reflecting a Rs429 gain. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold was quoted at Rs222,337 per 10-gram.

Conversely, silver prices in the domestic market declined, with 24-karat silver falling to Rs3,372 per tola, down by Rs9. The price for silver per 10-gram dropped to Rs2,890, showing a decrease of Rs8.

Looking at the trends over a longer period, gold has increased by Rs9,500 per tola in the past month, and by Rs41,200 since the start of the fiscal year. Silver, however, has gained only Rs22 per tola over the past month.

On the global front, spot gold traded at $2,709 per ounce, up by 0.46% due to the weakened U.S. dollar. Investors are closely monitoring Donald Trump's return to the White House and his inauguration speech for potential clues on future policies that could impact economic conditions and interest rate changes.
