A record-breaking 9.3 million tourists visited scenic sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the summer season, spanning from May 1 to July 31 this year.
This information was shared during a tourism meeting chaired by Zahid Chan Zeb, the adviser to the chief minister on Tourism and Culture, as per a statement released on Tuesday. Officials attributed the growth in visitor numbers to the promotional activities organized by various authorities within the Tourism Department.
Zeb commended the Tourism Department for its efforts in attracting a significant number of tourists to the province. He also mentioned that cultural activities would soon resume at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.
He urged stakeholders in adventure tourism to register promptly with the Tourism Services Wing.
Additionally, the CM’s adviser directed all tourism authorities to enforce the KP Government Rest Houses and Tourism Properties (Development, Management and Regulation) Act 2020 and ensure that data is uploaded on the KP Tourism website and mobile app.
