Following the Dairy Farmers Association's demand, the Commissioner of Karachi approved a Rs10 per litre hike in milk prices.
As per the commissioner's instructions, the cost of milk has risen by Rs 10 per liter, with retailers in Karachi now vending milk at Rs 210 per litre.
Previously, the already burdened residents of Karachi may face further challenges as reports suggest a potential Rs 50 per litre surge in milk prices.
Mubasher Qadeer Abbasi, President of Dairy Farmers Karachi, hinted at an imminent Rs 50 per litre hike in milk rates for Karachiites, attributing it to the escalating costs of milk production, surging livestock prices, and governmental oversight on these issues.
Abbasi emphasized the need for the Karachi Commissioner to promptly issue a notification outlining the new prices, reflective of the actual milk production expenses.
