The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity tariffs under the monthly fuel charge adjustment (FCA), providing relief to consumers across the country.

According to official notifications issued on Thursday, K-Electric (KE) consumers will see a reduction of Rs3.0218 per unit in their electricity bills, while consumers in other parts of the country will benefit from a Rs0.4641 per unit decrease.

The adjustment for KE applies to January 2025, while the reduction for other regions is based on February 2025 fuel costs. The revised rates will be reflected in April’s electricity bills.

This reduction excludes lifeline consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, protected consumers, and prepaid customers.

Additionally, NEPRA has decided to grant an extra relief of Rs0.90 per unit to power distribution company (Discos) consumers—except for lifeline and protected categories—over three months from April to June 2025, totaling Rs23 billion.

The federal government recently reinstated FCA benefits for users consuming up to 300 units and agricultural tube wells to ease financial strain. NEPRA confirmed that domestic consumers with Time of Use (ToU) meters will also receive the adjustment, which is linked to fuel price fluctuations.
