ISLAMABAD: In another jolt to the people of Pakistan, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday raised the tariff by Rs 4.12 per unit.
This increase, attributed to fuel adjustment charges for November 2023, was outlined in a notification issued by NEPRA.
Additional charges are expected to be incurred by consumers in January 2024, excluding Lifeline and K-Electric (KE) consumers from this tariff hike.
Earlier, at the caretaker government's request, NEPRA approved the tariff adjustment to maintain a uniform electricity tariff nationwide.
As per the notification, K-Electric (KE) consumers will experience a surge of Rs 1.72 per unit due to third-quarterly adjustment charges from the previous financial year.
The notification specified an increase of Rs 1.25 per unit for the adjustment period from January to March 2023, along with Rs 0.47 per unit for the adjustment period from October to December 2022.
