The Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) has found oil and gas reserves in Sindh’s district Sanghar.

“This discovery marks the first milestone in Sinjhoro Block from Sembar foundation,” OGDCL wrote in a notice shared with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.

According to a statement, a well was drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in-house expertise in consultation with several other ventures.

The well was drilled down at Balock well- 2 to the depth of 3,920 meters, an OGDCL press release said.

According to a preliminary test, the well can produce 388 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate through 32/64 choke at wellhead flowing press of 2,180 pounds per square inch (psi) and 6.8 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) gas.

Earlier on July 29,  a subsidiary of UK-based Attock Oil Company, Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), announced the discovery of oil and gas reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

POL with the collaboration of OGDCL and PPL had discovered the reserves in KP's Tal Block.

The discovery was made at the Razgir 1 exploratory well located in the Tal Block, which would provide 250 barrels of crude oil and 20 million cubic meters of standard cubic gas per day to the country.
