Claim:
Renowned religious scholar Mufti Tariq Masood was injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on his car in Karachi, several social media posts claimed on Thursday.
According to rumours-mongers, his car came under attack near Ghaghar Phatak area in the port city.
Photos of the bullet-ridden car also went viral on social media, which netizens claimed belonged to the cleric.

However, the claims were refuted by the 49-year-old preacher in a post on Facebook.
"Mufti Sahib is in good health," the post read.
The cleric termed the news of the attack "false and baseless."
A day earlier, the rumours of attack on Dawat-e-Islami chief Maulana Ilyas Qadri also circulated on social media, which were denied by the scholar in a video message.
