Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced the reinstatement of Sehat Card services in the province from the first of the Holy month of Ramazan.
The Sehat Card initiative was introduced by the PTI government during its tenure from 2013 to 2022. However, it was discontinued during the rule of the PDM and the subsequent caretaker government for nearly two years.
This card provides health insurance coverage for medical treatment for its holders and was previously accessible to the entire population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In compliance with the directives of the provincial government, State Life Insurance, the company administering the Sehat Card, has dispatched a letter to the Zonal heads of Peshawar and Swat, instructing them to reinstate the Sehat Card.
On March 8, the insurance company held a meeting with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur at his residence, during which the Chief Minister authorized the restoration of Sehat Card Plus in the province.
The reinstatement of the card will ensure free access to medical treatment for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa once again.
During the meeting, Gandapur emphasized that Sehat Card Plus services will be operational from the first day of Ramadan, with uninterrupted service provision for all patients.
Additionally, measures such as special counters to assist patients, program branding, and the provision of helpline numbers in all hospitals will be ensured.
