CM Maryam announces to establish Punjab's first cancer hospital

The newly-elected Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday announced the establishment of Punjab's first government-run cancer hospital in order to "facilitate the needy patients".
The announcement was made by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) seniour vice president during a visit Valencia Town area of Lahore.
Nawaz Sharif's daughter decided to build the cancer hospital near Valencia Town in Lahore.
In a video uploaded by PML-N's official X account, CM Maryam directed the authorities to finalise the plan in two months.
"We must also start hunting for international doctors and experts for the health facility," she added.
However, no further details regarding the project were shared by the CM.
She also inspected the proposed site along with her health department team, PML-N informed in a post on the microblogging site X.
Since assuming the post of Punjab's head, CM Maryam has announced several projects for the betterment of the people of the country's largest province.
She also launched the 'Suthara Punjab' project in order to clean province within one month.
"I want the entire Punjab clean in just one month whether they are rural areas or urban centres," CM Maryam said while issuing a warning to personally evaluate the progress.
Earlier, she announced the Ramazan relief package in line with the upcoming holy month of fasting.
