In a landmark move for the visually impaired community, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced an annual grant of Rs16 million for the Pakistan Blind Association in the province.

The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation from the association in Karachi.

In addition to the financial support, Chief Minister Shah outlined plans to provide dedicated transport services for visually impaired individuals in Karachi and Larkana. This initiative aims to facilitate easier access to educational institutions for those in need.

Moreover, the Chief Minister committed to engaging with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to secure special cards for the visually impaired. These cards will enhance their access to various services, further aiding their integration into society.

The delegation expressed their gratitude towards the Sindh government for the implementation of a five percent job quota for individuals with disabilities, recognizing it as a significant step towards greater inclusion and empowerment.
