Aamir Liaquat fans up in arms against Shaista Lodhi, Tuba Anwar for portraying him as ‘toxic’

Shaista Lodhi is receiving backlash over the teaser of her latest podcast episode featuring Tuba Anwar, actor and ex-wife of televangelist Dr Aamir Liaquat. The discontent is particularly evident among fans of Anwar’s ex-husband who are calling out her for delving into the topic of enduring a ‘toxic relationship,’ with many perceiving that she is hinting at her marriage with prominent host and scholar Aamir Liaquat.

In the promo, Tuba Anwar discusses her experience in a 'toxic marriage' and reflects on encountering deceitful individuals in her life.

The ‘Baby Baji’ actor emphasises that, “It is not necessary to tolerate a toxic relationship for thirty to forty years; you can walk away.”

Asserting her focus on the future, Tuba Anwar states in the upcoming podcast that she has no inclination to dwell on the past. "I couldn't believe people could tell so many lies. I now realise that I've been living in so much pain. I will make wiser decisions in my life from now on."

“When you know many things, yet remain silent, it is the most difficult thing to endure,” she added.

However, after the teaser surfaced, criticism arose against Shaista Lodhi for giving a platform to Tuba, whom some perceive as the ‘perpetrator’ in the context of Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

Fans expressed disappointment, stating they didn't expect Shaista Lodhi to portray Tuba as an 'angel.'

Some comments reminded Tuba of her connection with the popular host, emphasising that her ‘toxic relationship’ might have started when she entered into a marriage with an already-married man, allegedly for a foothold in the showbiz industry.

Tuba addressed criticism directed at her in an earlier interview following Aamir Liaquat's sudden demise, stating, "There was never a lack of money or love growing up. I would've been a gold digger if I took anything from him when leaving. I took nothing."

Televangelist Dr Aamir Liaquat and actor Tooba Anwar entered matrimony in 2018, but their union crumbled, leading to their split-up after 14 months. Tooba initiated the separation by announcing khula on February 9.

The day after, Aamir announced his third marriage with 18-year-old Dania Shah. However, Dania also sought khula just three months later.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain, one of Pakistan's prominent and controversial TV hosts, passed away at the age of 50. His untimely passing sent shockwaves throughout the country. 

He was found unconscious at his home in Karachi on June 9, 2022.
