"False News:" Afshan Quraishi dispels rumours of rift with son Faysal Quraishi

Veteran actress Afshan Qureshi has addressed a recent controversial video clip in which she expressed regret over the estrangement with her son, actor Faisal Qureshi. The veteran actress maintained that the news was "false" and her remarks were misinterpreted.

A video widely circulated on social media showed Afshan praising her son's acting talent, however, she firmly stated that he hasn't fulfilled his role as a son.

As per sources, the video, which was allegedly edited, sparked speculations of a rift between mother and son. 

The "Baba Jani" actor took to social media to dispel these rumors. After coming across a social media post that published her controversial statement about Faysal, she urged to stop sharing the fake news.

“Kindly avoid spreading such stories about my family and me. Stop these cheap tactics for publicity," her comment read.

Faisal, in a lighthearted response on his Instagram story, shared his mother's clarification, saying, "Mom, you ended all the spice!" (referring to the public drama).

Earlier, in an interview which was allegedly edited, the "Berukhi" actor said, “I always prayed that God would make him [Faysal] a big star, but I made a mistake in my prayers. I forgot to mention that God should also make him a good son and a good human being.”

She emphasised the importance of respecting one's parents, asserting that there is nothing more precious in the world. 

“I urge people to take care of their parents. If you do, you will achieve great success. Take care of your parents, and your life will be sorted. I don’t like the concept of old age homes. It is very wrong to discard your parents like unwanted objects,” Afshan added.

Faysal Quraishi hails from a family of seasoned actors, being the only son of two veterans, Abid Quraishi and Afshan Quraishi.
