Renowned TV host Aftab Iqbal claimed that religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel is addicted to his comedy show.
He made the revelation during his recent appearance in a podcast hosted by Hafiz Ahmed.
During the interview, the host asked the televangelist about his favourite scholar as "Iqbal himself is a profound researcher".
In response, the anchorperson said that he listens to Javed Ahmad Ghamidi "very much" and he holds a "relation of spirituality" with him.
"I believe he [Javed] is the biggest Muslim scholar of this era. People criticise him for giving excessive liberty in Islam... but I listen to him a lot," Iqbal said.
"I also listen to Dr Israr, Maulana Maududi and Mr Wahiduddin Khan Sahab [Indian scholar] is my favourite and I have the honor of interviewing him on a phone call," Iqbal added.
At this, the host questioned whether he ever listened to Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza or Maulana Tariq Jameel.
"I have a very lovely relationship with Maulana Tariq Jameel. He is a fan of my show and sometimes I also tease him," Iqbal revealed.
"When I [Tariq Jameel] was in Europe for Tableegh. I watched your show, it's an addiction. I said to him you are very clever that you visited Europe in the guise of Tableegh," Iqbal shared a light-hearted moment with the scholar.
