The Indian citizen Anju, who arrived in Pakistan to meet her 'lover' Nasrullah in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, went missing, India Today reported on Friday.
Anju, a married woman from Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi district, ventured to Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet a man she had connected with and fallen in love with on Facebook. She had informed her husband, Arvind, that she was heading to Jaipur for a few days. However, Arvind later discovered through the media that she had crossed the border.
Anju returned to New Dehli via the Wagah border earlier this week. After being interrogated by Punjab police and the Intelligence Bureau, she was allowed to go to her home town Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi city. But she has not reached there yet.
In a video recorded before her departure for India, Anju shared her appreciation for the people of Pakistan, stating, "I am Anju, and today marks my last day in Pakistan. Since my arrival, I have cherished every single day, and now it's time for me to bid farewell."
When asked about her experience during her stay in Pakistan, Anju remarked, “The people here are incredibly warm, hospitable, and respectful to everyone. Wherever I went, I was welcomed and treated like a family member.”
The security has been beefed up at her residence and as per the Indian media strangers were allowed entry after being thoroughly checked.
