Anwar Maqsood says he has been 'stopped from traveling abroad'

Renowned satirist Anwar Maqsood recently revealed that he has been prohibited from traveling abroad, although he did not disclose the reasons behind the travel restriction.
In a recent public address, Maqsood commented on the connection between Imran Khan's incarceration at Adiala Jail and the rising shares at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The video of his speech went viral on social media.
The famous playwright shared that he had planned to attend the Jashn-e-Rekhta event in Dubai but was stopped from traveling.
"I was stopped from going there," he said.
Maqsood also disclosed that his play, House Arrest, which was scheduled to be performed at the Arts Council Pakistan, was similarly “stopped.”

He clarified that the play's title was not a reflection of his personal situation, adding. "instead, the whole country is under arrest right now."
During his address, Maqsood also disclosed he was not allowed to speak in front of a huge crowd.
Since the video surfaced online, neither Anwar Maqsood nor his son, Bilal Maqsood, have issued any clarification regarding his statement.
