Ducky Bhai gets major relief in gambing app promotion case

YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, famous on social media as Ducky Bhai, was granted bail by the Lahore High Court on Monday in a case involving allegations of promoting illegal gambling applications.

Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhary approved his bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million. Rehman was arrested on August 17 by the Lahore wing of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at the Lahore airport.

The FIR was lodged by the state through NCCIA Lahore shortly after midnight on August 17. 

It was registered under sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming) and 26 (Spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, along with sections 294-B (Prize schemes related to trade) and 420 (Cheating and dishonest inducement) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The investigation stemmed from an inquiry initiated on June 13 based on “credible information” suggesting that several YouTubers and social media influencers were allegedly advertising betting and gambling apps to the public in exchange for financial gain.
