Fawad Khan likely to star in former squash champion Jahangir Khan's biopic

Lollywood superstar Fawad Khan is set to star in the biopic of legendary squash champion Jahangir Khan, sources said on Tuesday.

The actor recently hinted at the project but remained tight-lipped about the details.

In a recent interview, Khan was asked about his role in the biopic of Jahangir Khan, who clinched the World Open title six times and the British Open ten times.

Responding to reports of his role in the biopic, the Humsafar star stated that he would not confirm anything until a formal contract is signed.

After a brief hiatus, the Pakistan heartthrob is back in the spotlight. His fantasy series "Barzakh" is now streaming on YouTube, and he is reportedly set to star in a new Indian film.

Earlier, in an interview, squash champion Jahangir Khan expressed delight at the prospect of a biopic being made about him and picked Humayun Saeed as the suitable actor to play him.

Emphasising the importance of biopics, he explained, "Biopics are very important for inspiration and I think they are very important for our children. We have many sports legends, so I think biopics should even be made for their learning."

Jahangir Khan rose to become one of the most dominant players in the history of squash, coming from a family of squash champions, including his father Roshan Khan, who won the British Open, and his older brother Torsam Khan. He became the youngest world champion in 1981.
