Renowned actor Madiha Imam, who got married to an Indian filmmaker Moji Basar, slammed an online critic who questioned her husband's religious background.

The actress tied the knot with Basar in 2023. Since then, she has faced criticism due to speculations about her husband's religion, despite repeated clarifications that he is Muslim.

Recently, a social media user questioned how she, as a "Syed," could marry a non-Muslim.

The Bayhadh actor responded firmly, saying, "I have mentioned it a million times. He is not a Hindu, and we had our nikah ceremony. And now please calm down."

"And stop saying mean things to anyone on the basis of their race, color, or country, please," she added.

After her marriage to Basar, she visited Arunachal Pradesh in India, where the couple celebrated their union with a grand reception arranged by Madiha’s in-laws.

The ‘Baba Jaani’ actor also shared pictures with her in-laws and a video of her dance performance with her husband during the reception ceremony.

Her post circulated on social media, showcasing the warm reception Madiha received from her husband's family.

However, those videos fueled rumours about Moji Basar’s religious background and her in-laws, with many speculating if she married into a Hindu family.
