Famous Pakistani YouTuber Asad, who gained popularity after marrying young, has decided to stop vlogging with his wife and other female family members. In a recent vlog, he cited personal religious beliefs as the reason for this shift.
In February 2020, at the age of 18, Asad tied the knot with Nimra. The wedding pictures of the young couple went viral on social media. The duo now have a son named Azlan.
After their young marriage captured online attention, Asad and Nimra launched a YouTube channel dedicated to family vlogging. Boasting nearly 588k subscribers, their videos regularly pull in hundreds of thousands of views.
Now recently Asad announced in a YouTube video that he will no longer feature his wife Nimra and other women of the family in his vlogs.
Asad said, "Many people are asking me why I left family vlogging. The answer is that we always run after money and worldly desires. We never think about Allah and Islamic teachings."
"I read about people whom Almighty Allah will never forgive, first among them are children who disobey their parents, second are those who dress up as the opposite sex instead of their own and in the third place will be those who show their wives to the world.”
"After reading this, I immediately made up my mind and decided not to show my family on social media anymore. My prayers are of no use if I contiue to violate Islamic teachings," he maintained.
He added that "I am not giving up vlogging, now you will be able to see only me and my son Azlan in my vlogs and no women of the house will be part of the vlogs".
Pakistani social media has recently been buzzed with debates about inappropriate content and the portrayal of female family members in YouTube vlogs.
