“I don’t regret it because I did everything from my heart,” Hania Aamir on relationship controversy with Asim Azhar

Known for her captivating smile and stellar performances, Hania Aamir reflected on her past relationship with singer Asim Azhar and the challenges of social media trolling. Despite enjoying that time without regrets, she now believes that romantic relationships should be kept off social media.

The ‘Janaan’ actor emphasised that “romantic relationships are very fragile,” and should be kept private in the realm of social media.

Hania Aamir appeared in a podcast recently where she opened up about her past controversies and the invaluable support she received during that trying time.

In response to how she coped with the controversies and the overwhelming attention that came with her fame at a young age, she said, "Everything has to do with perspective, I look at it in a way that it shaped me to be what I am today. I would not have been so solid. I would not have known where I was lacking if I had not gone through those experiences.”

The ‘Mere Humsafar’ actor admitted that the controversies affected her mental health but she chose to confront and overcome depression.

 “I am the strong person who got up and said I don't want to deal with depression I want to fix and I did that.”

She continued, “If I hadn’t gone through that I wouldn’t have never figured out that I have some past trauma, which is getting triggered by social media. I would have never found out if it hadn't happened.”

Acknowledging the support she received during that challenging phase, she expressed gratitude for Shazia Wajahat saying, "It’s her motherly instincts or something else, she always sense when something is wrong and she is there at my doorstep."

The Insta starlet stressed the need for to prevent unnecessary complications and negative attention during breakups.

"People shouldn't be blamed; because “they invest their attention and when things fall apart they feel that it has affected their lives” Hania emphasised that we should nurture and protect our relationships. 

Without explicitly naming Asim Azhar, she reflected on her relationship with him stating that, “I don’t regret a second of it. The bad part was that it meant to happen it was exactly what I wanted to do at that time. I was very happy at that time, I was doing everything from my heart.”

Hania maintained that authenticity often labeled as fake in today's world of facade and superficiality.

She noted, “There is strength in vulnerability,” adding that she has grown wiser, but holds no regrets for her past experiences.

In 2019, frequent appearances of Asim Azhar and Hania Aamir at public events and social media posts featuring their seemingly intimate moments sparked rumours of a budding romance between the duo.

In 2020, Hania and Asim confirmed they were just friends, putting the relationship rumours to rest. Soon after, Asim got engaged to actress Merub Ali.
