I received death threats for working in drama Ishq Murshid: Hira Tareen

Pakistani actress Hira Tareen revealed problems she had faced after working in the hit-drama Ishq Murshid. 

Hira Tareen, who worked as Mehreen in the popular drama, appeared in the YouTube show Something Haute, where she shared the audience's reaction to her negative character. 

During the interview, the Khaas actress expressed grievance toward viewers, "who are unable to differentiate between a character and an actor". 

She said people started hating her due to her negative role in the drama. 

“When I have gone to YouTube, I have seen Mahreen’s hate buttons where people have been commenting, which made me feel the people in our country have issues to differentiate actor and character,” the Choti Choti Batain star said.

Nevertheless, according to the actress, she also saw some appreciative comments, where netizens applauded her work.

“I had received death threats as well, my DM was filled up,” she claimed.

When Tareen was asked what death threats she had received, the actress replied: “I have received messages If you went outside without protocol you would see what would happen to you.”

“That account had no followers and pictures, it seemed like some had created an account to threaten me,” the Fasiq actor added.

“I was scared of that, but when I have gone to the public at the airport, I have seen people show me a lot of love, they were talking about the acting aspect, and saying I performed very well.”
