Renowned Pakistani actor Faisal Qureshi said that the release of Bollywood films in the country is crucial for the revival of Pakistani cinemas.
Speaking to a private news channel, the Fitoor actor discusses the challenges being faced by the Pakistani film industry and its solutions.
"Films are not just about dancing and singing but also a mode to spread awareness,” he said, emphasising the urgent need for more cinemas in Pakistan.
Qureshi suggested decreasing cinema tickets up to Rs250 so that a common man can easily afford that.
“If you want to run Pakistani cinema then it is very important to release Bollywood films as Pakistani audiences want to watch Indian films. We need to improve ties with the neighbouring country,” the Bashar Momin actor added.
He further said that “previously, two digital portals had started operations in Pakistan, but it stopped due to unwanted conflicts.”
Qureshi questioned the decision to halt the Bollywood films in Pakistani cinemas, which were, according to him, bringing in a substantial amount of Rs60-70 billion from India.
“I don’t know why we close the doors, that brings money to us.”
