Renowned TV host and journalist Iqrar-ul-Hasan addressed speculations surrounding his marriages, saying that both his marriages were based on love, and neither wife harbours doubts or complaints.
A podcast featuring Iqrar-ul-Hasan with a YouTuber dating back to a month ago, recently surfaced on social media, where Hasan discussed his marriages in detail. Iqrar-ul-Hasan expressed that he does not want to promote polygamy.
Once known for his sting operations, the well-known anchor Iqrar-ul-Hasan has shifted the spotlight from investigative journalism to his marital affairs.
Amidst lingering rumours, Iqrar-ul-Hasan's third wife, anchor Aroosa Khan, recently confirmed their marriage in an Instagram Q/A session. While Aroosa openly acknowledges their matrimony, Iqrar himself remains tight-lipped on the matter.
During the podcast, Iqrar-ul-Hasan expressed his stance on his marriages, stating, "I do not want to promote more than one marriage as an example, nor do I wish to advise anyone about it, but there is a common misconception in our society which disapproves second marriages and implies that the husband left his first wife and destroyed the lives of his children.”
Reflecting on the common perception regarding second marriages, Iqrar stated that he has never neglected his responsibilities.
While refraining from divulging details about his marriages, he emphasised the privacy of the matter, saying, "I can talk about anything to enhance my image, but the reasons behind my marriages concern the honour of my wives."
Iqrar-ul-Hasan further asserted, "When intentions are pure, Allah is merciful. Both my first two wives are wonderful persons, and there has never been any problem in my life."
He clarified that there was never an issue regarding unequal time distribution between wives. "No wife has ever expressed dissatisfaction," he affirmed.
He clarified that during his second marriage to Farah, his first wife was informed and aware of the situation.
Addressing the speculation about a potential third marriage, Iqrar-ul-Hasan remarked that Farah jokingly mentions such things, asserting he has no intention of marrying again.
While he confirmed the first two marriages were based on love, Hasan neither explicitly confirmed nor denied his third marriage.
He revealed that even after two marriages, “I receive inquiries from women interested in a third marriage."
