"It's a matter between her and Allah:" Khalil retracts his statement about Saba Qamar’s clothing choice

Controversial playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar backtracked on an earlier statement where he criticised Pakistani megastar Saba Qamar for her choice of clothing.

The scriptwriter expressed regret over his past comments during a recent interview with a private news channel.

"I realise now that I should not have made those comments about Saba Qamar. It was a mistake... maybe I had high expectations from her because she did one of my best dramas," the Bunty I Love You writer said.

Qamar had previously criticised Qamar's dress, stating that he would not cast her in any of his projects due to her choice of "vulgar" attire, which he believes is against his standards.

However, he now acknowledges that the matter is between Saba and the Almighty.

"I believe it's a matter between Allah and her," he noted

However, the Sadqay Tumhare writer said he still stands by his statement about renowned actress Mahira Khan.

“I'll always curse on me for the sin I committed by casting her in a very sacred role in my Sadqay Tumhare,” Qamar said about Mahira in 2022.

The Pyaray Afzal writer, in the same interview, also hinted at leaving the country after a recent honey-trapping scandal involving him.

Khalil was recently abducted and robbed after being honey-trapped by a woman, named Amina Urooj.

As per the details provided by the writer in FIR, the controversial figure received a call from Amina, who invited him to her residence in Bahria Town to discuss a drama project.

The suspects withdrew Rs267,000 from the ATM after compelling Qamar to disclose his PIN. He was then forced into a car, subjected to physical torture, and abandoned in a deserted location.

Addressing a press conference later, the playwright revealed that doctors have advised him to avoid sunlight. For this reason, he met with the woman late at night.

Later, the prime suspect, Hasan Shah, leaked the alleged obscene video of the famous writer on social media.
