Joint family system brings relationships closer: Muneeb Butt

Renowned actor Muneeb Butt believes that living in a joint family after marriage provides a valuable support system, particularly during difficult times, and strengthens the bonds between family members.

In a recent interview, Muneeb highlighted the numerous benefits of living in a joint family, emphasising the importance of having one’s parents close by. 

He explained that the presence of elders brings wisdom and guidance, often helping to resolve minor conflicts between family members, including disputes between spouses.

Muneeb shared that he lives with his brother and father, a living arrangement that gives him peace of mind regarding the safety of his wife and children when he is away for work. 

“In the early days of marriage, when you have minor differences with your partner, your parents help the couple reconcile. Without elders, who will help resolve these issues?” he said.

The actor further elaborated on his personal experience, saying, “I’ve been in Lahore for 10 to 15 days, but I have no worries about my wife’s safety because she lives with my family. My brother and father are there to handle any emergencies, which allows me to stay tension free.”

He added that without someone to look after his family, he would always feel concerned for their well-being.

Muneeb also suggested practical ways to live in a joint family while maintaining individual independence.

He mentioned that families can live in separate portions of the same house, having their own kitchens and managing their own bills, including groceries and electricity.

He concluded by saying that living in a joint family system can help prevent a family from breaking apart.
