Mawra delighted to learn legendary singer Musarrat Nazir was her father-in-law's 'khala'

Renwoned actor Mawra Hocane revealed a familial link to the iconic Pakistani singer Musarrat Nazir, known for numerous beloved songs, including "Chale Toh Kat Hi Jayega Safar," which is currently trending on Instagram.  

Hocane revealed that Nazir was her father-in-law's maternal aunt. 

She also posted photos from her dholki event, featuring Nazir's icnoic "Chitta Kukkar" playing in the background.

“Elated that this song was sung by my father-in-law’s khala and here we are, always vibing to it on repeat many moons later,” she wrote in the caption.

Musarrat Nazir, known for her numerous popular songs essential to Pakistani weddings, including Lathe Di Chader, Mehndi Ni Mehndi, and Mera Laung Gawacha, was also a celebrated actress. 

She received multiple Nigar Awards for her performances in films like Zehr-e-Ishq, Jhoomer, and Shaheed, and was awarded the Pride of Performance by the Pakistani government in 1989.

Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani's wedding on February 12 has fans swooning over their couple goals.

The pair has also appeared in joint projects, such as the drama series Sabaat and Neem. In January, Mawra share a post on Instagram to hint at a new project featuring the two alongside Zaviyar Ejaz.
