Renowned TV star Meera recently weighed in on the rise of emerging actors in showbiz and expressed concern about the lack of humility among some rising stars in the entertainment industry, which is essential for artists alongside their talent.

Speaking on a TV show, Meera maintained that she is now committed to be more selective in her work.

Reflecting on a bygone era when actors displayed respect and courtesy despite their stardom, she said, “Previously, artists were generally more courteous. They possessed greater cultural awareness and a strong work ethic. They adhered to proper etiquette, demonstrated good manners, and carried themselves with grace. Actors were more friendly and approachable, they were not angry. While we are technically stronger today, I miss the elegance of that era."

The actress discussed her upcoming mega project which is the remake of the popular Bollywood classic movie 'Pakeezah’.

“I do selective work, which is why I have been privileged to be offered a role in the prestigious project, ‘Umrao Jaan Ada.’ While patience is important for landing such exceptional opportunities, I will do my best to avoid unnecessary publicity. You will, however, witness my performance soon enough. The masterpiece is penned by the renowned Pervaiz Kaleem, and will be aired on both the film and television screens,’ she stated.

‘Pakeezah,’ directed by Kamal Amrohi and starring Meena Kumari is a timeless gem in Bollywood history. This 1972 masterpiece remains known for being one of the era's most costly productions.

Few days ago, Meera shared a poignant post on Instagram, mentioning that her sister has recently been diagnosed with cancer, which has been a difficult time for her and her family, prompting her to take a break from the showbiz industry.

Her notable cinematic contributions include “Ehsaas,” “Khilona,” “Kanta,” “Chief Saab,” “Mujhe Jeene Do,” “Miss Istanbul,” and “Baaji.” She displayed her acting prowess in TV One’s drama “Main Sitara.”

Meera often make headlines in the media for her peculiar, offbeat statements.
