MrBeast announces engagement to girlfriend Thea Booysen

Prominent YouTuber MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, announced on Wednesday that he has recently proposed to his girlfriend, Thea Booysen.

“Ya boy did a thing,” Donaldson posted on his Instagram, accompanied by a photograph of him kneeling during the proposal.

In a video shared on her own Instagram account, Booysen showcased her diamond engagement ring while both she and Donaldson donned matching Christmas sweaters themed around MrBeast.

The festive attire was fitting for the occasion, as Booysen revealed to *People* magazine in an interview published on Wednesday that Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day in the presence of their families.

“My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas, and we were going to celebrate at our home, so both families were together,” Booysen explained to the publication. “We were opening gifts, and for the very last present, he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise.”

Booysen stated that she “of course” accepted the proposal and conveyed her “extreme excitement.”

The couple first met in 2022 in South Africa, Booysen's home country, through a mutual friend.

“When we were first introduced, it was immediately apparent how brilliant Thea is,” Donaldson remarked. “I realized within the first few minutes of our meeting that I wanted to pursue a relationship with her. Fortunately, she felt a strong connection as well.”

Later that year, they made their red carpet debut at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and confirmed their relationship on Instagram.

Donaldson is a well-known YouTuber, entrepreneur, and producer of the reality competition series “Beast Games.” Booysen is also a content creator on YouTube, specializing in esports and gaming.
