Mufti Qavi calls Rakhi Sawant 'Ahl-e-Kitaab', offers to marry her

Controversial religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi expressed his intention to marry none other than Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant, referring to her as "Ahl-e-Kitaab" (People of the Book).

He recently appeared on a podcast, where he asked Rakhi Sawant whether she was currently in a "Nikkah" (marriage) with a Hindu or a Muslim man.

“Dr Zakir Naik, Professor Hamidullah and Dr Ahmed Deedat had said that the Hindu scripture is a “holy book”, suggesting that Rakhi could be considered from the People of the Book.

Mufti Qavi revealed his interest in marrying her after the host reminded him that the actress had previously expressed a desire to marry a Pakistani Islamic scholar and had recently performed Umrah.

Qavi stated, “I am willing to marry her, but there is one condition, I must ask my mother.”

Mufti Qavi also shared details about one of his past marriages, in which he had wed a woman from a prominent family who was a friend of several key figures from the subcontinent’s political history, including Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, Quaid-e-Azam, Gandhi Ji, and Nehru.

Unfortunately, the marriage ended tragically with his wife’s passing.

Qavi said  that he still remembers her with respect and prays for her.

Earlier, Bollywood actor Rakhi Sawant had announced her plans to marry Pakistani actor and model Dodi Khan after he proposed to her. She shared that the marriage will be solemnised according to Islamic customs.

However, he was allegedly refuse to marry her, but in an another statement he said "I haven’t taken a U-turn, nor have I run away. I’ve spoken to Rakhi, and once we meet in person, I will update you all.”

He added: “I feel like you did not fully understand what I said earlier, so I will clarify again. I plan to marry Rakhi and then let everyone know."
