“Mujhe waqai sharmindagi afsos hai” Sohail Sameer apologises over viral intimate scene

Pakistani actor Sohail Sameer has issued a heartfelt apology following the resurfacing of a nearly 10-year-old clip that has recently gone viral on social media.

In his statement, Sameer apologised to those who were hurt, distressed or disappointed by the clip, saying that it was recorded around a decade ago.

“I sincerely apologise from the bottom of my heart to everyone who was hurt, upset or disappointed because of this viral clip,” Sameer said.

The actor said that at the time, he may not have realised that something from his past could resurface years later in such a manner. However, he said the recent circulation of the clip had prompted him to reflect on the matter from a different perspective.

“I have a mother, sisters and daughters in my family too,” Sameer said, adding that he had thought about how he would feel if similar material involving a member of his own family were to emerge.

Expressing regret over his past actions, Sameer acknowledged that he should not have created such content, regardless of the circumstances at the time.

“I am genuinely ashamed and deeply sorry that I did such content at the time, regardless of the circumstances,” he said.

Sameer also spoke about the importance of reputation and the consequences of a single mistake, saying, “It takes years to build respect, but only a moment to lose it.”

The actor said he accepted responsibility for his actions and was sincerely remorseful over the incident.

“I accept my mistake and am deeply ashamed of it. I request everyone to forgive me,” Sameer said.

He further appealed to the public not to judge him solely on the basis of a mistake from his past, saying that he had learned from his actions.

“I hope you will not see me only through one mistake from my past, but as a person who has learned from his mistakes,” he said.

Sameer concluded his statement by once again apologising to those affected and appealing to the public for forgiveness.
