Renowned musician Haniya Aslam, one of the talented voices behind the iconic duo Zeb and Haniya, passed away on Sunday due to a cardiac arrest.

Hania's singing partner Zeb Bangash confirmed the news of her demise on Instagram. She shared pictures of her late friend with the caption "Hanini."

Hania Aslam and her cousin Zeb Bangash founded the music band 'Zeb and Haniya' in 2007. The duo rose to fame with their songs Paimona, Chal Diye, and Chup on season 2 of Coke Studio in 2008.

The duo’s Bibi Sanam Janam became a massive hit. 

After gaining recognition as a singer in Pakistan, the vocalist moved to Canada to complete her education in 2014. She launched her solo career from there in 2016.

After returning to the country, Haniya served as a music composer in various films, including Lala Begum and Dobara Phir Se.

She also collaborated with AR Rehman and several Indian artists in films like Madras Cafe and Highway.

The news of Haniya's passing shocked the music industry. Fans and colleagues paid tribute to her exceptional musical talent.

Indian singer Swanand Kirkire recalled the singer’s beautiful songs in a post on X.

“Oh Haniya, you were such a beautiful, gentle, and kind soul,” his post read.

Osman Khalid Butt expressed gratitude to Haniya for her incredible music.

Journalist Rafay Memood wrote, “What an utterly talented artist and an incredibly humble human being.”
