My mother told me I’d be unhappy but I insisted: Nadia Khan on her first marriage

Renowned host and actor Nadia Khan opened up about her first marriage at 20 years of age and called it a “mistake.” She opined that women should never rush to marriage on impulsive and superficial feelings. 

Nadia recently appeared on a program where she revealed that despite her family being supportive of her to not marry at a young age, but admitted that her own mindset was not in a good place and she was attracted to marriage under peer pressure.

TheKam Zarf actor's father advised her to focus on her career first. However, she felt pressured by peers and was not in the right mindset, which led her to make the decision prematurely.

At that young age, she could not understand that love alone doesn’t guarantee a successful marriage.

Reflecting on her decision, Nadia called her marriage a result of her own stubbornness and poor judgment. She said that at the time, her career was thriving, and she was traveling the world, but suddenly her mindset changed. 

She admitted it was her fault for not listening to her parents, and that she could have avoided the marriage altogether.

Nadia also mentioned that her mother had a premonition in a dream, sensing that the marriage wouldn’t be right for her. Her father’s main concern was that it wasn’t the right time for her to marry, especially since she was just 20 years old.

Looking back, Nadia confessed that she regretted her decision for a long time, but added that the best thing to come out of her marriage was her children.
