Renowned Pakistani actress Nadia Afgan has opened up about her first meeting with playwright, author, and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, stating that his behavior left her with the decision never to work with him.

In a recent podcast, Nadia Afgan responded to a question about working with Qamar, saying, “I will not work with him because he is a very peculiar personality.”

Recounting the incident from 25 years ago, around 1997 or 1998, she shared, “Back then, I was new to the industry. One day, I accompanied Samina Apa to a studio. She left me there for a while to attend to some work.”

Nadia Afgan described that during her wait, a man was sitting with his feet up on a sofa, smoking a cigarette. When she greeted him with a salam, his response was abrupt: “Who are you, girl? Are you here to work?”

Curious about the person, she later asked Samina Apa, who informed her that he was a writer. Nadia added, “At that moment, I decided that someone who lacks basic manners and etiquette cannot be a good writer, and I would never work with such a person.”

The actress further commented on Qamar’s writing abilities, saying, “He is an ordinary writer, not someone who produces extraordinary or remarkable work.”

Nadia Afgan’s candid remarks have sparked discussions in the entertainment industry, shedding light on her firm stance regarding professionalism and respect.
