Indian music sensation Neha Kakkar said that the warmth and appreciation she receives from Pakistan makes her wonder why there are differences between the two countries.
Speaking to journalists in Dubai, Neha was asked whether she would consider performing in Pakistan, given that her songs are equally popular there as in India. She responded that she has always been met with love and support from Pakistan.
“Our differences don’t make sense to me. Everyone I meet from Pakistan shows me so much love and positivity,” Neha said.
“There’s no difference between Indians and Pakistanis. We are all alike.” She emphasised that this mutual love should increase to foster unity between the two nations.
Neha also shared her desire to collaborate with renowned Pakistani vocalist Asim Azhar, praising his song, “Jo Tu Na Mila.”
Celebrities from both sides of the border often show appreciation for each other, with recent instances including several Indian actresses praising Mahira Khan’s traditional look, she shared on Instagram.
Artists from India and Pakistan have a history of mutual respect and appreciation as they frequently express goodwill towards each other, despite the political tension between both countries.
At the IIFA awards in Abu Dhabi, Ananya Pandey and Bobby Deol praised Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan as their favourite Pakistani actors.
Earlier in an interview, Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan reminisced about her experience of working with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, saying that artists on both sides of the border have a similar thinking and approach to art.
Recently, Indian Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh’s heartwarming gesture towards a Pakistani actress Hania Aamir during his London concert went viral as he called for love and unity between the neighbouring countries through shared cultural ties.
