Ranbir Kapoor shares intriguing story about his 'first wife'

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently revealed in an interview that Alia Bhatt is not his first wife. The Animal star also shared an intriguing backstory behind the statement.

Speaking to Indian media, Ranbir humorously disclosed that one of his fans believes she is married to him and considers herself his wife.

The actor further revealed that he has a ‘first wife’ whom he has never actually met.

Recalling an incident from his early career, the Sanju actor shared that a female fan once got married to the gate of his bungalow, where he lived with his parents.

When asked about his biggest fan, Ranbir said, "I remember, in my early years, there was a girl—I never met her—but my watchman told me that she came with a pandit and married my gate."

He added that at the time, he was out of town, but upon his return, he was informed that the fan had conducted a wedding ceremony outside his house.

"At the bungalow where I lived with my parents, there was tika on the gate and some flowers. I was out of town at the time, I think, so that was quite crazy. I haven’t yet met my first wife, so I look forward to meeting you at some point."

Ranbir Kapoor married Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and the couple frequently express admiration for each other. Alia once described him as “the right man” from the moment she first met him.

The duo are now proud parents to their two-year-old daughter, Raha.

Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is busy shooting for his upcoming film, ‘Love and War’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles.
