Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda embarked on a new chapter in his life as he exchanged vows with his longtime girlfriend and model Lin Laishram on Wednesday, partaking in tribal rituals.

The couple sealed their union in a marriage ceremony inspired by Metei Hindu rituals, a practice followed by the Manipuri population in India’s northeast.

During the ceremony, Randeep adorned a complete white Manipuri attire, while Lin graced the occasion in a traditional Manipuri bridal dress known as Potloi or Polloi. The couple exchanged vows in a private wedding ceremony attended by close family and friends.

This traditional wedding ceremony, rich with cultural significance, captivated widespread attention on social media.

Randeep Hooda hails from Haryana and his wife belongs to Manipur.

In an era where traditional customs often fade amidst the dominance of pastel-themed weddings, from outfits to venue decor, netizens are lauding Randeep Hooda for preserving his cultural traditions.

In a video capturing the ceremony in Imphal city, the couple is seen immersed in Manipuri wedding rituals, a poignant reflection of their commitment to heritage.

Taking to Instagram, the 'Highway' actor joyously shared the news with his followers, posting a snapshot from the wedding with the caption, "From today, we are One."

Earlier, Randeep Hooda had spoken to Indian media about his decision to follow Manipuri traditions in their marriage, emphasising the cultural roots woven into their special day.

He said, “It feels very good. I felt that it’s only respectful to come and marry in the bride’s tradition. Though I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that’s something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life partner’s culture. That’s why I am here.”

Randeep Hooda is recognised for his roles in films such as Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Heroine, Murder 3, Sarbjit, Baaghi 2, and Radhe.
