Actresses Hania Aamir and Yashma Gill were recently seen dancing at Gill’s younger sister’s wedding, wearing short cholis and flared lehngas.
Q duo’s energetic dance moves quickly went viral, receiving much attention on social media.
However, their outfits drew criticism from some viewers, including actor Hina Khawaja Bayat.
Bayat commented on a video shared by blogger Afia Qazi, questioning whether people had forgotten the traditional kameez.
“I was wondering if people have forgotten something called a kameez,” Bayat wrote, implying that the outfits were not in line with traditional attire.
Sharmila Faruqui, former member of the Sindh Assembly, swiftly responded to Bayat’s remarks, urging her to refrain from judging other women based on their clothing choices. “Stop judging women with their choice in clothing.
If that’s the case then all men should wear sherwanis and not suits,” Faruqui wrote in an Instagram story, defending the actresses.
The online exchange sparked a larger conversation about personal freedom and body autonomy, with many supporting the idea that women should have the freedom to wear whatever they choose.
