A video of celebrated vocalist and philanthropist Shehzad Roy discussing his age recently went viral on social media, where he candidly opened up about his career and also revealed that he is 45 years old.
In the interview, Shehzad shared that he began playing the guitar at the age of 13, and his mother taught him. He also mentioned that music was a significant part of his family, so he didn't face much resistance from them when pursuing it.
However, he faced bullying in school for playing the guitar, which led him to become an advocate against corporal punishment in schools. He even launched a successful campaign to stop the beating of children in educational institutions, particularly in government schools.
Shehzad also reflected on his career, mentioning that his first political-themed music album, released in 2009, was well-received. He went on to create more songs addressing social and political issues.
The singer also recalled his first concert in America in 1998, where, at just 19 years old, he performed alongside artists like Junaid Jamshed, Sajjad Ali, and Ali Haider.
Recent viral video of him claiming to be 19 in 1998 led social media users to calculate his current age, which is 45 in 2024. Shehzad, who is often teased about his seemingly youthful appearance, jokingly claimed that he has received a "stay order" from the Supreme Court to remain ageless, poking fun at the constant remarks about his age.
