TV host Madiha Naqvi has retracted her statement about the divorce of celebrity couple Agha Ali and Hina Altaf, saying it was "completely a slip of tongue".

Earlier, Naqvi, during her morning show, had confirmed the separation between the couple, stating they were no longer in a relationship.

However, after the news went viral, Naqvi took to Instagram to apologise and clarify her mistake.

"Who am I to confirm it? That was completely a slip of tongue that too in a very concerned way, while playing guess the celebrity game in my morning show," she wrote in her Insta story.

Naqvi explained that she never intentionally shared sensational information and regretted hurting anyone with her words.

"[...] my audience know that I don't say things to grab attention," she said.

Naqvi specifically apologised to Agha Ali and Hina Altaf, acknowledging that she has no authority to confirm the status of their relationship.

"I didn't intend to hurt anyone especially these two beautiful humans I adore a lot."

The controversy began when Naqvi hinted at the end of Agha Ali and Hina Altaf's relationship during a segment with Shagufta Ejaz and Vaneezah Ahmed.

The couple, who tied the know in May 2020, has been facing separation rumours since 2022, but has never publicly confirmed or denied them.
