The ‘Taxali Gate’ trailer unveils a rape victim's gripping battle for justice amidst societal evils

Set within the walled city of Lahore, the eagerly-awaited crime-thriller film 'Taxali Gate' unravels a compelling battle for justice amid pervasive societal evils. The narrative revolves around a rape survivor, and the fast-paced trailer, brimming with action and grit, portrays the emotional and aggressive pursuit of justice against the powerful figures dominating the city. 

Accompanied by the powerful rap song 'Mera Haq Kidhr Hai' by Eva B, the trailer amplifies the intensity of the storyline.

The movie is scheduled for release on February 16, as revealed by the filmmaker and writer Abu Aleeha, who also makes a cameo appearance in the film.

The star-studded cast of the upcoming crime thriller features Alyy Khan, Babar Ali, Khaled Anam, Nayyar Ejaz, Ayesha Omar, Mehar Bano, Yasir Hussain, Iftikhar Thakur and Iffat Omar, among others.

The film is titled after the ancient gate of Lahore, 'Taxali,' and the entire movie was shot at this historic location, the capital of Punjab.

While the trailer doesn't disclose the plot, it highlights the resilience of the oppressed, who bravely fight for justice despite facing bullying and harassment from the powerful.

The film trailer's description reads: "Prepare for a gripping tale of resilience, justice, and empowerment as "Taxali Gate" takes you on an emotional rollercoaster through the heart of Lahore. This star-studded Pakistani film unveils the powerful story of a rape survivor who rises above adversity to seek both legal and personal retribution.”

In an interview with a local publication, Abu Aleeha praised the ensemble cast's outstanding performances, stating, "Everyone delivered the best performance of their careers, and the reason is that their characters were very powerful."

Taking to Instagram, Ayesha Omar expressed her excitement for the movie, referring to it as her 'baby.' She wrote, "Presenting the official teaser of our creation, the upcoming Pakistani film 'Taxali Gate.' Scheduled to hit cinema screens worldwide on February 16, 2024, under the Distribution Club banner. This film, addressing the theme of consent, unfolds in the historical walled city of Lahore and sheds light on the prevailing law and order situation."
