Veteran Pakistani actor Shafqat Cheema is recovering from pneumonia and not in a coma, his son Sheheryar Cheema clarified.
Contrary to alarming reports, Sheheryar confirmed that his father's condition was never critical.
In a video post on social media, Sheheryar said: "He [Shafqat Cheema] only had pneumonia, and Alhamdulillah, he is feeling well and is home now." He also denied reports of his father suffering a stroke or blood clot, leading to a coma.
Shafqat Cheema was temporarily admitted to Lahore's Shalimar Hospital due to pneumonia and has since been discharged, he added.
Sheheryar labeled reports about his father's coma and stroke as "fake news".
Cheema’s career spanned over 952 films, mostly playing villainous roles in Lollywood.
The veteran actor is widely recognized for his iconic roles in Punjabi films, including the 2011 blockbuster "Bol" and "The Legend of Maula Jatt."
He also appeared in the drama "Khuda Aur Muhabbat."
