Renowned film actor Shaan Shahid shared his thoughts on body image, pressures of aging, societal beauty standards, and the value of physical health as he approaches his 50s.

The actor, who has been in the public eye for decades, emphasised the unique gifts bestowed upon men and women by the Creator, noting that while “men are gifted with physical strength, women are blessed with beauty, patience, fragility, strength, and the qualities of sharm aur haya” (modesty).

Shaan expressed gratitude for his health, acknowledging that it is his body, his constant companion that will stay with him until the end of his life. "I must respect it," he wrote, reinforcing the importance of self-care and fitness.

He also revealed his desire to inspire those of his age group to prioritise their health, encouraging people to stay active and fit.

Shaan also shared his thoughts on societal standards, pointing out the double standards that exist when it comes to public appearances.

"The world we live in has given men the right to go shirtless," he remarked, acknowledging the objections surrounding such freedoms. While many may have issues with these societal norms, Shaan added, "I didn’t make the society, I’m just a part of it."

Shaan ended his post with an open invitation for anyone wishing to challenge these societal expectations, joking that such posts may go viral far beyond his own.
