The Awami National Party (ANP) has expressed opposition to the imposition of Governor's Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Engineer Ehsanullah Khan, ANP's central spokesperson, said in a media talk on Thursday.
The ANP leader said that the party does not support this move, as it's not a solution to the problem.
He also pointed out that even if Governor's Rule is implemented, it will only be temporary, lasting three months.
Additionally, Khan noted that since PTI holds a majority in the provincial assembly, the Governor's Rule would have little impact.
Interestingly, the majority of the federal cabinet supports the implementation of Governor's Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Before making a decision, the federal government plans to consult with the PPP, Qaumi Watan Party, and ANP. The Ministry of Law and the Attorney General have already shared their views on the matter with the federal cabinet.
Cabinet sources stated that the federal cabinet discussed this one-point agenda, and a final decision on Governor’s Rule will be made after consulting political allies and stakeholders.
