The Ministry of Petroleum taking notice of disruptions in petrol and diesel supplies has directed the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to ensure smooth supply of petroleum products.

According to Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Abdul Sami Khan, road blockages caused by the PTI protests have disrupted tanker supplies, leaving some petrol pumps, especially in Punjab and KP without fuel.

He noted that while Sindh remains relatively unaffected, Punjab and KP are experiencing severe disruptions, with many vehicles stranded due to road closures. “Even when petrol is available, people cannot access it due to blocked routes,” he added.

Reports suggest that multiple petrol pumps have run out of stock, particularly in Punjab, where some stations have been sealed off or are providing limited quantities. Pump owners cited ongoing road closures for the past three days as the reason for halted fuel deliveries.

Several major roads have been sealed in the capital as the PTI convoy slowly draws towards the capital. Large contingents of security forces have also been deployed across the city.
